ShireReckoning Android App

I’m doing a little side-project at the moment. Things are still early, but basic functionality is up and running.

Anyone who’s been following my [GitHub] would know that I’ve been working on being able to generate dates in “Shire Reckoning”, the date system used by the Hobbits of Middle Earth, from any given date in our Gregorian calendar using Java. Basically, I’m not satisfied with the fact that there don’t seem to be any online generators to do this; most websites offer the method to convert by hand, but I haven’t been able to find a proper “insert date, retrieve converted date” solution.

Now, being able to do this from the command prompt or a Java console is all well and good, but it would be much better to have a proper UI to do this task.

And here we are. Yes, its sparse. Currently, the UI just displays the converted date for today, but I’m adding implementation to do this for any given Gregorian date. I have also planned the ability to save dates for later, converting backwards from their dates, and some hidden gems too!

Post in the comment section any functionality you’d like to see.
